Hydra or Ydra, is one of the Saronic islands of Greece located in the Aegean sea. In ancient times, the island was known as Hydrea (derived from the Greek word for “water”), a reference to the natural springs on the island. The municipality of Hydra consists of the islands Hydra, Dokos and a few uninhabited islets. There is one main town known simply as Hydra port. It consists of a cresent – shaped harbor, around which is centered a stand of restaurants, shops, markets and galleries that cater to turists and locals. Rubbish trucks are the only motor vehicles on the island since, by the law, cars and motorcycles are not allowed. Horses, mules donkeys and water taxis provide public transportation. It is a unique destination preseving its integrity of place.
Our trip begins from our base in Anavyssos Palaia Fokaia port (after communication we can pick you up from another location). Departing from the port and starting our adventure we head for Hydra island to make a first stop for a relaxing swim and snorkeling to tselevinia islets. Due to our time in tselevinia you can have a snack or a refreshment and than we will continue to our next hot spot Agios Georgios beach. Later on we will visit Hydras main town where you can have lunch, a walk in the small alleys of the island. Around 17.00 we start preparing our way back to our base, but it is always possible to make a small stop for an evening swim before our trip comes to its end.
Of course we are always flexible and we can make any change to the tour schedule according to your personal preferences.
